Global Climate Action Summit and its implications to the world

The Global Climate Action Summit will bring leaders and people together from around the world to “Take Ambition to the Next Level.” It will be a moment to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors and citizens with respect to climate action.

It will also be a launchpad for deeper worldwide commitments and accelerated action from countries—supported by all sectors of society—that can put the globe on track to prevent dangerous climate change and realize the historic Paris Agreement.

The decarbonization of the global economy is in sight. Transformational changes are happening across the world and across all sectors as a result of technological innovation, new and creative policies and political will at all levels.

States and regions, cities, businesses and investors are leading the charge on pushing down global emissions by 2020, setting the stage to reach net zero emissions by midcentury.

As a participant during the summit, we run through our observations during the events.

Climate Change is real and this photo we took was a great testament on how people want action, real action. This shot was taken where protesters were protesting in front of the summit entrance to shine light to the problems that Climate Change has caused.

It was great to see big and small businesses partaking during the summit to see what everyone is doing towards a collective action to Climate Change. Pictured above is Lisa Jackson, Apple’s VP for Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives. Apple is known to be secretive and to hear from their side about their role in the world by being role models says a lot. Lisa Jackson continued on talking that in order for Apple to continue business, the Circular Economy, through technology and innovation, is key to economic, environmental and social sustainability.

Shots above are screenshots from conversations that encapsulate the Why of the summit. We hope you, our readers, take this as an inspiration to contribute to the cause.
